***Saving for Lily***

I am not sure if many of you know about my ties to Adrienne, Jim and Owen. I was one of the people who had contacted her about a potential domestic adoption that I chose to pass on because my heart was pulling me towards international adoption. In many ways I feel like I brought pain into their lives when all they ever wanted was to be parents to a little baby girl. I know sometimes you read stuff and think no way could those people REALLY be like that. Well I am here to tell you it is all true and then some.

I was with them during one of the most difficult times in their lives when they were told that they would not be adopting the little girl who I encouraged them to adopt. I remember sitting with them in amazement as to how loving they were together as a family. I remember feeling so mad that the adoption was not going to take place. I also remember thinking why is she not mad? How can they both STILL be so loving towards the birth mother and pray that the child would be loved if not by them then by the birth family.

The answer is simple. They are good people who believe in God's plan for them. They try to live their lives in a way that really focuses on what is good about everything. Now I am not saying that Adrienne and Jim did not feel sad that they were not going to take that baby home because they were sad I watched it first hand. It was heart breaking. Even writing this makes me tear up because through their sadness they told me that it was not my fault. They did not want me to be upset, can you believe it. There are people out there who are good and forgiving and Jim and Adrienne are living proof.

I know many of you who follow my blog also follow their blog well now they have another blog in in preparation for their daughter, Lily. I encourage you to go over there and read their story. If you are blessed to have an extra 5 dollars sign up for a chance to win one of many prizes. Every dollar that they raise will bring them closer to bringing Lily home.

I have been considering donating a quilt to Adrienne's cause. I am not sure that anyone would even be interested and I have not even told her yet. Please tell me what you think. Would you donate 5 dollars to her cause if I donated this quilt for her to raffle off in one of her give aways? It is a twin size quilt with a white background. The pattern is called the Ohio star. It is the one hanging up in this picture, not the blue and white one but the other one.

I have just gotten it back from the person who does my machine quilting and I just have a few finishing touches to put on it. The colored fabric is what they call thirties style fabric. The quilt has a cottage feel to it but could go in a lot of different style homes.

Joy,
You are such a loving sweet person! I had been following their blog as well, and have cried many tears for them. I have been praying for them and really can't wait for them to have their sweet Lily. I would think many people would be happy to help them bring sweet Lily home. The addition of your handmade quilt would be a beautiful gift.

A homemade quilt for just 5 dollars? Heck yeah I would donate. Well, I would if I wasn't broke, but I'm sure plenty of people will!

Joy, If it is the star quilt you want to donate...I'd definitely give another $5 for a chance to win it. I LOVE it! I wish I knew how to sew like that. You'll have to come here, or me there, and show me how!
As for Lily, I am so excited for Adrienne and her family. I can't wait to see her cute little face.

I love the quilt and think it would be a great addition to her fundraising project. So many of us cannot sew, so it would be a nice gift to receive!

I feel I need to add a little "Bless Your Heart" as I am a southern gal!!

I have read some of their blog and as hard as their loss was with the domestic situation...it led to a blessing later and they were able to see how God WAS preparing them for Lily...just a different baby! That is what is amazing about all of this....

I love that you are thinking of donating a quilt..you are so talented!

Maybe you could give us another sneak peak of Banana? Come on....
please?
