No Two Piece Bathing Suits!

I am feeling so much better today then Friday. I can not believe how upset I was about having to wait. I want everyone to know that I am powering myself up for the wait. I talked with Gerard and he has a knack for putting me back into the right perspective. I have a list of things that I wanted to do in preparation for little Banana and now he told me to "Get busy".

So that is what I have done. First I spent Friday night annoying Gerard which is always high on my list of things to do. We went shopping! We finally decided on a new entertainment center. Next it was off to the mall where I dragged him into a children's store to look for clothes for the little Banana. Okay not only were the shorts too short but a two piece bathing suit is out of the question as per him.

You should have seen his face it was priceless. He seriously asked where was the rest of the suit. Okay we are talking about a bathing suit that was a size 2T not a suit for a 14 year old. Because of his reaction I was forced to take him through the mall and through the progression of stores that Little Banana will eventually shop in including the store that is devoted to hair bows.

Today I have spent the day making her a dress. My mother use to make all our clothes when I was a little girl but I think I am dating myself. Watching my mother sew is how I got so interesting in sewing. I plan on making this dress in a bunch of different colors and possible in a winter fabric too. Bonnets are the next thing that I must master. All I need is to find 2 neat buttons for the straps.

That dress is soooooo adorable! I wish I knew how to make clothing. I can do simple valances and maybe pillows, but when I took sewing classes and tried to make clothing, my grandmother would rip out all the stitches and do it for me. I know she was trying to help, but I never really learned!

very cute dress. I would love to learn to sew but with 4 kids, I don't think I have the time or energy. :)
Yesterday we bought our oldest girl her 1st bikini (6 yo). I thought hubby was going to die, but he handled better than I thought :0

Love the dress...Precious!

Yes, two piece bathing suits (even for a 4/5 year old) are small. I bought a tankini today and it looked tiny (but oh so cute). Worry more when they get old enough to start being interested in boys!

If you figure out how to make bonnets I would pay you to make me some for my girls and send them to me. I have looked all over for bonnets and can never find them.

wow...you are talented!

on the topic of 2 piece bathing suits....taking little girls to the bathroom in a 1 piece bathing suit when they are soaking wet is a TOTAL pain in the behind. it is hard to get off and then hard to get back on. i'm am a very modest person and didn't want my girls in bikinis at any age. thank heavens for the invention of tankinis! a bit more modest but make going to the bathroom so much easier than that dang one piece which i refuse to buy now. :) just something to chew on for the future! :)

WOW!!! That is a beautiful dress! I jammed my sewing maching up again! It looks like tax season is slowing down and I'll have more free time maybe I could come over and fix the dovet cover for my little baby's crib.

That dress is so adorable. I'd sew dresses is I had a little girl. Boys clothes seem a bit harder. But, my mom used to make my clothes too. Now that I have my grandmother's old sewing machine I just might try to sew again.

Very cute dress! I was never interested in sewing when I was younger but I sure wish I was now. Maybe someday...

Our girls will not have 2-piece swim suits (other than a rash guard suit) ever, if I have my way. This is something I feel very strongly about. You just never know what kind of perv is sitting at the beach or the pool just waiting for a young girl to hang out in a bikini. Yep, even tiny girls. Sick? Yes, but sadly true.

That is so funny about the bathing suit... my little Grace has one 2 piece and I love her in it and her daddy didn't mind it either. Your hubby sounds like he is gonna take to this daddy thing pretty good! And... the dress you made is precious! I want my mom to teach me how to sew!
