Have I told you lately that I feel so blessed. This year has proven to me that hard times can pass. To summarize a friend's Facebook status "The hardest arithmetic is counting your blessings" and this is how I feel. I can no longer imagine how my life would be without Gerard and Anna. I could have thrown it all away over my foolish pride more times than I care to count.
Friday morning when I was shopping I tried to count all my blessings. I became overwhelmed with all that God has provided for me. The very next thought was what if I had a Give-A-Way to support orphans and families in need? This one will be simple I promise.
When I was waiting for Anna, and blogging I know that many prayed for Anna and I. When Gerard and I hit a rough patch, and I blogged about it, I know many of you prayed for us. So hear is what the Give-A-Way will cost...are you ready?
I would like you to pray for the orphans in the world who will not have a Mommy and Daddy to hold them on Christmas morning, and for families who are experiencing difficult times.
That is it! I told you I would keep it simple. If you decide to pray for these two causes, and want a chance to win this Give-A-Way than just post below that you prayed, your name, or email address. You do not need a blogger account to comment to this blog post. If you link this blog post on your blog, Facebook or Twitter account let me know and I will put your name in twice. The more prayers the better.
I am giving away a pair of cotton Christmas pajamas and a Christmas story. The PJs are a country green with white pok-a-dots with a smocked Santa. The PJs are a size 3T but do run big.
The book is one that caught Anna's attention while we were looking at books at BJ's warehouse. She picked it out and was looking through it intently while I was looking at a different book. To my surprise I noticed the Eastern European style art and decided to buy it. This book has a wonderful lesson about how the manner you treat a person does matter. The name of the book is The Wild Christmas Reindeer by Jan Brett.
To be fair I will close the Give-A-Way at 3 pm on Tuesday, November 29th. I will post the winner by 5pm on November 29th.
Once again thank you for your support and prayers.

I definitely agree with you about all of our blessings. I know that I need to step back from time to time to really add them all up, instead of hoping for the "next" thing. But I truly love everything that I have been given. And that includes the amazing people that I have met through blogging about our adoption. We are definitely linked together. So, yes, I will stand right with you to pray for those children still left without a family and hope that one day they will find a family to call their own. God bless them now and always.

Of course I'll pray! I have been toying with sitting down and writing out all of my blessings for a while. I think now I'll start today. God Bless!!! Love the book and the PJ's by the way.

I pray for them on a daily basis, and will continue to do so....we have a grandson who was adopted from Vladivostok and absolutely adore him, only wish we could afford a dozen more......what a wonderful thing you are doing.....love to follow your blog about Anna, she is so precious, and I can only imagine how blessed you feel.....
Always Mary (mtaresh@msn.com) Bradyn Lee's grandmother.
Not only do I thank God everyday for our beautiful son from Kaz but now that we travelled and are adopting our twins from Russia I am ever so more thankful.
We pray that while we are home and they are not & won't be for quite some time - that they are safe happy and cared for.
An orphange is no place for any child and we pray that all the children who are waiting are met with all the parents who are waiting.
It seems so unfair - all of the children who wait & wait & all the parents who wait & wait. We pray that they wait no more!!
Continued blessings!

What an awesome idea!! Prayed specifically for those 2 things, and also (my big hearts cry lately) that God would burden the hearts of His people to adopt and care for orphans. I can not imagine our life without Sunshine- and recount how many times I thought it would never happen, or encountered so many's words of "why not just have 1" when the answer for all of the questions was God has burdened my heart and I will walk this path He has set before us! ;o)
Both my daughter and I will be saying a special prayer each and every night. My prayers were answered on June 17th and I cannot imagine my daughter growing up without a family who loves her very much! She has a home/family to call her own and hope that so many of these special souls find their forever family!

I will continue to pray for the orphans. I countmy blessings daily, and really feel for those that have so much less. I enjoy your blog very much.
I forgot to use my name on the porevious blog.
Oh I love this idea. It is difficult to count your blessings, especially when thinking of the sweet babies without mommy's and daddy's. My heart aches for them. I pray daily that they will find their families and that the mommy's and daddy's with open hearts will find them.
I am so thankful I have my sweet Hope home and I pray for all of the other waiting families and waiting babies daily.
I prayed and will keep praying.
